At Drayton Park, we aim for all children to make maximum progress in their learning and feel happy and secure at school. We aim to reduce the barriers to learning that some children may face, through differentiated lessons and resources. Some children may need further support to access the curriculum. Barriers to learning could occur in these areas: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, physical and/or sensory needs.
Teachers work closely with our school managers and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) as well as outside agencies to make sure that children with special educational needs and disabilities are included and make excellent progress. We work closely with parents so they are kept informed and have an active role in supporting their child’s education. We adhere to the SEND Code of Practice.
If you have any concerns about your child or want more information about our provision for pupils with special educational needs, please contact our inclusion manager, Cherylyn Larking.
