Spanish is taught from Year 3 to Year 6, through the online learning platform Duolingo. This is a highly proven and effective language learning tool. It engages pupils in speaking and listening, as well as writing and reading in Spanish. It ensures children are exposed to the right pronunciation. It involves an ongoing assessment and revision process.  It tracks pupils' individual progress, ensuring new vocabulary, phrases and grammar are properly learnt and introducing new content in a staged and appropriate way. It enables pupils to learn Spanish in a personalised way and if they are keen, develop their skills beyond the classroom.
