Welcome back to school! We hope you had a good summer. The first day back has been lovely. It has been a real pleasure to see all your children again and hear some of their summer stories.
In the next few days we will be putting out a full newsletter, with complete term dates. Until then, however, please note that next Tuesday, 13th September, is an INSET day. This means staff will be in school for training, but the school will be shut to children. Please note that there is now a quick link tab on the home page of our website, taking you straight to our term dates.
There have been some changes to our website over summer. I hope you will find them helpful. The home page now has some quick link tabs and a search bar, to help you find the information you need more readily. You can also see our twitter feed on the home page of our website. We have decided to start using Phase rather than class pages under the ‘Children’ tab. We think this will enable us to keep the pages more relevant and up to date.
It was great to see so many of our pupils looking so smart and ready for school this morning. This year, we intend to be a little stricter than we have in the past on school uniform. Please do ensure your child always brings the correct uniform to school and please do label all their clothes. If your child is not in uniform we will call you to discuss it. Should you have a problem with uniform, please do let us know. We will want to help.
If you have a question or worry, or there is information we need to know about you or your child, please do get in touch. There are many ways you can contact us. For general enquiries, please speak to the school office. You can ring us on 020 7607 4142 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You are welcome to catch Mr. Parrott, Ms. Kapoor or your teacher at the beginning or end of the day. It is very easy to make appointments with us. Just ring the school, email or ask at the office. Each Phase has an email address you can use to contact your child’s Phase Leader. You can find them all on the contacts page of our website.
Last year our attendance was the best it has ever been, standing above the national average. We want to do the very best we can by your children. We can only do so, if they are in school. Please, please make sure your child is in school, on time, every day. Should you need any support with attendance or punctuality, do not hesitate to contact Zohra Hussein, our attendance officer. She works from the main school office. If there is a reason why your child is going to be absent or late, it helps us hugely if you can ring in advance and let us know.
Can you take great photographs?
We need a great photographer who could come into school for a day or two and take pictures, so we can update our website and use them in a variety of other publications. Are you a photographer and could you help us? If so, please do get in touch. Let the school office know or email us at email@example.com.
Class Art Project
We have launched a new class art project. Each class will have a long bamboo pole in their room. Children can bring items in from home, such as a strip of cloth, to tie onto it. As they do so, they can make a wish. We intend to turn these into large ‘totem pole’ sculptures at the end of each term. If your child is keen to bring something in for their class pole, please help them do so. They can bring in objects throughout the term.
As Mr. Parrott told your children in assembly on the first day back, he has already made a totem pole wish. It is for your children to have a fantastic year, in which they learn loads. We will be doing our very best to make it come true. We hope we have a great year working in partnership with you too.
