Marbel-ous Behaviour
We run a very successful whole school approach to managing and developing children’s behaviour. It is based on positive reinforcement and the recognition that behaviour is ‘good’ when it benefits others and ‘bad’ when it does not. Our approach to behaviour is not simply to manage children well; we aim to enable children to learn to behave in increasingly mature, self-controlled and positive ways. We see the development of great behaviour as part of our Curriculum. Please see our Behaviour Policy for more information.
This year we are developing our approach even further, by engaging in Trauma Informed Practice training for all staff. As a culmination of this, we intend to build a programme called the Zones of Regulation into our curriculum, enabling us to actively teach children to better understand and regulate their emotional responses. Our friends at Samuel Rhodes School, who are co-located with our partner school Montem and are experts in the Zones of Regulation approach, will help us achieve this.
