Catching Up on Lost Learning
Please note that the contents on this page were written in Autumn 2020, when school was fully open. School will open fully again. When it does, we will pick up these plans to help pupils catch up with learning lost last year.
We are proud of our efforts to keep our children learning during the first lockdown, when schools were closed. However, we know that remote learning can never be as rich as learning in school. We know that many of our pupils lost learning and we are focused on helping them fill gaps and catch-up. Key aspects of our approach to teaching and learning already do this very well. See our Curriculum pages and our work on Feedback in particular.
The Government is giving us a significant amount of funding to help pupils who lost learning during lockdown catch up. Some of this is available for us to spend as we see fit and some is ringfenced to be spent on mentoring or tutoring.
