Catching Up on Lost Learning
We are proud of our efforts to keep our children learning during lockdowns, when schools were closed. However, we know that remote learning can never be as rich as learning in school. We know that many of our pupils lost learning and we are focused on helping them fill gaps and catch-up. Key aspects of our approach to teaching and learning already do this very well. See our Curriculum pages and our work on Feedback in particular.
The Government is giving us a significant amount of funding to help pupils who lost learning during lockdown catch up. Some of this is available for us to spend as we see fit and some is ringfenced to be spent on mentoring or tutoring.
The document below details how we spent this money in 2020-21 and its impact on helping pupils catch-up. This year we have a range of tutoring in place across school, using a variety of funding sources. We will be publishing more information as part of our Pupil Premium strategy.
