At Drayton Park, we aim that all children make maximum progress in their learning and feel happy and secure at school. We aim to reduce the barriers to learning which some children may face, through differentiated lessons and resources. Some children may need further support to access the curriculum. Barriers to learning could occur in these areas: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health, physical and/or sensory needs. Teachers work closely with our school managers and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) as well as outside agencies to make sure that children with special educational needs and disabilities are fully included and make excellent progress. We have experienced staff who may work with children in or out of class, in small groups or 1:1, to help deliver the support they may require. We work closely with parents so they are kept informed and have an active role in supporting their child’s education.
