Last week I met with existing PTA members and parents who are interested in joining the PTA. The PTA is our Parent and Teacher Association. It operates as a charity that supports the school. The PTA has traditionally organised our key social events, such as the Summer and Winter Fairs and International Evening. The funds it raises go to support the school in many ways. The PTA raised much of the money for our new community building. It supports the Year 6 journey each year. It has bought lots of books for the school and helped pay for children to learn instruments. Without the PTA there would be less fun at Drayton Park and fewer resources for your children.
Recently, membership of the PTA has dwindled. The parents who have very successfully run it for many years are soon to leave the school. We need some of our newer parents to get involved and breathe new life into the PTA.
The next event on the horizon is the Summer Fair. We will be holding a meeting at 3:30pm, on Friday 6th May, in the Nursery, to plan it. Please come if you can. There are lots of small jobs you may be able to help with for the Summer Fair, even if you cannot make a major commitment.
It would be great if you could complete our survey about the Summer Fair and PTA. Find it at:
I am very proud of the commitment and learning I see every day in school from pupils and staff. We’ve grown enormously over the past couple of years. I would love to see the social side of the school grow in similar ways. For that, we need you!
