Ofsted have now finalised their report on their inspection of the school and I am delighted to tell you that they have judged Drayton Park to be a good school with outstanding leadership and management. To read the report, click here.
Ofsted make judgements about five aspects of the school, which are:
They also identified three areas for development in order for the school to achieve an overall judgement of ‘outstanding’. These were handwriting, the early years outdoor area and the consistency of marking. The senior management team and governors had already identified these areas and have plans in place to work on them to achieve our ambition of making Drayton Park a truly outstanding school.
Ofsted’s last judgement two years ago was that the school required improvement in all areas. On behalf of all the governors I should like to thank Mr Parrott, Miss Kapoor, the Phase Leaders, Mrs Ince and all the staff for their vision, determination and sheer hard work in bringing about this transformation. It is fitting that Ofsted recognise their efforts in the judgement on leadership and management. I should also like to thank the children and you, their parents and carers. Ofsted describe Drayton Park children as ‘conducting themselves sensibly’, ‘considerate’, ‘polite’ and ‘genuinely proud to applaud others’ as well as praising their learning. Thank you for the enormous part you play in this.
You can pick up a hard copy of the report at the school office.
Wishing you all a pleasant break over half term,
Chair of Governors
